Unit 5 The Olympic Games一、教材背景和學情分析(一)本單元的話題和相關的語言知識 本單元的話題為奧運會(The Olympic Games),分別介紹了古代奧運會(They began in 776BC,about 3000 years ago)、現代奧運會(They held them in 1896 in Athens,Greece.)以及第29屆北京奧運會(They won 51 gold medals,21 silver medals, and 28 bronze medals.),旨在通過以學習奧運會的知識為載體,更近一步提高、鞏固對一般過去時的認識與運用。(二)相關內容的上位知識分析以及結合上位知識分析確定的本單元的教學重;難點本冊書的重點是一般過去時,學生在四年級時初步接觸過一般過去時,但是并沒有深入的學習這個時態。本單元在全書中是學習一般過去時的第五個單元也是最后一個單元。本單元的教學重點為:1)理解課文,了解奧運會的歷史、古代運動會與現代奧運會的主要區別、29屆北京奧運會的相關知識,2)總結不規則動詞的過去式(began,thought,had, held,could,sent,read,went,were,came,won,set),3)運用所學句型來詢問或描述已發生事情的時間(3000 years ago,in 1896)、數量(How many medals did Chinese sportsmen win?)等內容。4)在本單元還對冠詞的用法進行了總結,包括a與an的區別。本單元的教學難點: 1)本單元涉及奧運會及體育相關知識,詞匯較難拼讀、識記(the first modern Olympic Games the,3000,1500, 1896,Athens,Greece, great success,gold/silver/bronze medals, sports festival); 語句較長(They began in 776 BC, about 3000 years ago./ And there are more events than in the modern Games than in the ancient /And the IOC decided that every four years a different city should host the Games. /They won more medals than they did at the 28th Games.)。2)不規則動詞較多(began,thought,had, held,could,sent,read,went,were,came,won,set)(三)各單元、各課知識點之間的聯系、整合、鋪墊與延伸本書的前四單元已經學習了一般過去時,對于用when, where, who, what引導的一般過去時的特殊疑問句的結構已基本掌握,本單元又有所拓展,新增how many引導的特殊疑問句,以及用ago,in表示的過去的時間狀語(three days ago,in 1896)。本單元前兩課是了解古代運動會(the ancient Olympic Games)與現代奧運會(the modern Olympic Games),第一課得主句型為When did the ancient Olympic Games begin? They began in 776BC,about 3000 years ago:第二課的主句型為When did people hold the first modern Olympic Games?They held them in 1896 in Athens,Greece.第三課主要介紹第29屆北京奧運會(the 29th Olympic Games), 功能句型 “How many medals did Chinese sportsmen win?”, 第四課為復習課,加入了冠詞的用法總結。(四)本單元知識點、考點的梳理A句式功能句:When did the ancient Olympic Games begin?They began in 776BC, about 3000 years agoWhen did people hold the first modern Olympic Games?They held them in 1896 in Athens,GreeceHow many medals did Chinese sportsmen win?課文中的重點句子:*第15課中I thought they had a history of 100 years 一般過去時的意義。*第15課與17課中的兩個含有比較級的句子中,比較級作定語修飾名詞There are more events than in the modern Games than in the ancient.
