Teaching Design教學設計Teaching material:Unit 8 Comic strip and welcome to the unit Teaching analysis: My students are all from the countryside, most of them work hard on English, but usually they dont get high grades in exams, compared to many other classes in our district. There are many reasons for it. So in this listening and speaking period, I would like to focus on the materials in the textbook. I probably have set some goals that are not as difficult as other teachers. I just want to make them able to memorize several new words and phrases and to be able to read aloud the main part of the text. I think that is proper ,practical and good for my students. Teaching objectives:Language knowledge objectives(語言知識目標):(四會)words:dig;serious ; wise;phrases: take shorter showers; turn off(三會)breadfruit;reduce;recycle.Language skill objectives(語言技能目標):聽:listen and understand the new words,phrases and sentences in the lesson。說:say a few sentences about how to live a green life.讀:read aloud the the new words,phrases and sentences.寫:Can write correct words ; Homework: to write a passage with the title :how to live a green life?Emotional objectives(情感態(tài)度目標):1、Be interested in English learning and would like to participate.2、Know some expressions about how to live a green life 3、Want to take action to protect the environment.Important points and difficult points:Memorizing new words and phrases is important while reading aloud some sentences in part A and B fluently is difficult. Teaching preparation:In-class tests(70 copies ),PPT,a trowel,etc. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Greeting and warming up(1) T:(wave to the class)hello,everyone!Ss:(wave to me)and reply hello,Ms Luo!(2) T:Introduce the topic “a green world”,explain the word ”green”T plays a video about paper and homework.Ss watch the video.T and Ss talk about the video.T:How can we live a green life? (show some pictures on PPT about using less paper and plant more trees)Ss:use less paper and plant more trees.T:What else can we do to live a green life?(show two pictures about recycling waste)Ss:We can recycle waste.T:teach the word “recycle”T show a piece of news about recycling waste. Ask Ss to read aloud the news.T shows some pictures about new words,teaches new words bytalking about the pictures and writes the words on the blackboard.Step 2 Comic strip (1) T shows two pictures on PPT,and says:Hobo has a trowel,see? Takes out a black plastic bag,and asks : guess what do I have?Ss: T:Yes.I have a trowel,too.What can we use it to do?(does the movement of digging with the real trowel)Ss:to dig holes T teaches the word “dig”,uses the sentence on the textbook.T asks a question and plays the audio in comic strip twice.Ss answer the questions. T teaches the word “breadfruit” by showing the pictures of it.(2)Act out a dialogue,teach “breadfruit”and“serious”.(3) T asks Ss to read aloud comic strip. Ss do test 1 . Step 3 Welcome to the unit A green life AT: We only have one earth.So We must learn to live a green life to protect our only earth How to live a green life? Finish match ,ask a student to stand up and match.Teaches new word “reduce”,”taking shorter showers”,”turn off”,”recycle”Do test 2 by filling blanksSs do test 2- read aloud Step 4 A green life B(1)T plays the audio of the conversation twice and then answer the questions together with Ss.(2) Ss follow T to read aloud some sentences,T checks the work by asking Ss to read aloud the conversation. T asks two Ss to read aloud some sentences.Ss follow T to read aloud some difficult sentences.(3)(3)Finish test 3read conversation aloud Step 5 (1)Finish test 4-read words aloud and write down the words.
